Monday, 6Â May 2013, saw the commencement of a one week training course in Electronic Auditing for Officers of the Inland Revenue and Customs and Excise Divisions.
This training course is timely given that the Inland Revenue Division (IRD) recently launched the commencement of the implementation activities for the provision of E-Services in Grenada. It is also significant as the use of ICT is one of the corporate objectives outlined in the IRD’s Strategic Plan 2013-2015 as well as a pillar in the new economy outlined in the 2013 budget.
Among some of the topics being covered during the training course are:
- Understanding Computerized Accounting Software
- Audit Risk Areas
- Using Electronic Auditing Data
It is expected that the Officers would acquire enhanced knowledge to allow them to effectively perform their tax audits.
The training is being facilitated by the Caribbean Regional Tax Administration Centre (CARTAC) and is scheduled to be completed on Friday 10 May 2013.
