The National Parenting Programme of the Ministry of Social Development wishes the mothers of our wonderful nation a happy Mother’s Day, which will be celebrated this coming Sunday, 12 May.
We would like to remind you of how very special you are and that the job that you carry out every day is greatly appreciated. A price tag cannot be assigned to your roles since they exceed above and beyond any monetary figure.
Parenting can be a very fulfilling and rewarding journey so make the best of it by being dedicated to the task. However, it can also be filled with challenging and frustrating moments. Be encouraged for this is totally normal, it happens to all parents regardless of circumstances and giving up would not be a viable option.
Do not be embarrassed or afraid to seek assistance regarding the challenges encountered with your child/children. Consult with a relative, friend, neighbour, teacher, counsellor, social worker or any other person who can provide positive and helpful parenting advice. Always seek out the best interest of your child/children and yourself. Be the best parent that you can be.
Additionally, the National Parenting Programme (NPP) of the Ministry of Social Development and Housing can be contacted regarding parenting education. For contact please telephone 440–2269 or 7952.
Let us love our mothers, cherish our mothers, and support our mothers.
Happy Mother’s Day!!
