Aruna Neptune left the island on Monday, 15 July 2013 for the People’s Republic of China, where she will participate in a forty-five day training programme in radio broadcasting.
Aruna began her career in radio in 1998 and is presently employed with WeeFM 93.3 and 93.9 as a radio announcer and is the host of the Mid-morning journey 9:00 am to 1:00 pm.
Her programme involves conducting interviews with various guests on issues of national importance.
Ms. Neptune says she is looking forward to enhancing her broadcasting skills and learning new ways to improve on her delivery of new techniques, while providing better quality broadcasts to listeners of her programme.
It is also her intention to pass on the knowledge gained during the course with her co-workers at WeeFM Radio Station and other colleagues.
The course is scheduled to run from 17 July to 30 August 2013. Ms. Neptune is expected back in the island in the first week of September.
