On Saturday 22 March, customers of Foodland at the Market Square and Kirani James Boulevard locations, were educated about the United Nations World Water Day, courtesy of two utility companies, the National Water and Sewage Authority (NAWASA) and Grenada Electricity Services (GRENLEC).
World Water Day was established in 1993 by the United Nations General Assembly as an annual, international celebration of the importance of clean water and to bring much-needed awareness to the critical need for sustainable water solutions and resources.
This year’s theme is ‘Water and Energy’ which are closely interlinked and interdependent. The messages that ‘Water requires energy and energy requires water. Saving energy is saving water. Saving water is saving energy’ were echoed by the two utility companies who supplied useful information and tips about conserving and managing Grenada’s water and electricity resources.
