Chef Yvette Michelle La Crette from Grenada showcased her culinary talents at Bloomingdales Department Store on Saturday 7 June, as part of the ongoing Caribbean Celebrity Chefs programme of the Caribbean Tourism Organisation (CTO) Caribbean Week, New York.
Sixty shoppers enjoyed Chef La Crette’s live demonstration cooking Breadfruit Pie, Curried Goat and Bread Pudding. La Crette also distributed signed copies of her recipe book, a guide to cooking some of her favourite Grenadian dishes. The book was sponsored by the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA).
Her style and quality of the live cooking demonstration was so impressive, that La Crette has received an offer to do another live demonstration at a Whole Foods Market in September of this year. Before the Bloomingdales event, various sites listed her either as Chef Yvette James or Chef Yvette La Crette. Now they’ll list her as Chef Yvette, Grenada Celebrity Chef.
