Mark Kitchen has joined the team at Mount Cinnamon Beach Resort, a Peter de Savary boutique property on Grenada, as General Manager of the resort.
Kitchen, a seasoned professional with over 25 years’ experience in resort management, has previously worked in Fiji, Thailand, Mexico, Australia, Antigua, St Lucia, Mauritius and most recently has spent five years as General Manager of the Pink Sands Resort in the Bahamas.
“I look forward to leading this young dynamic team at Mount Cinnamon and refining the friendly, professional service we deliver to all our guests. The resort is located on a stunning beach with breathtaking views across to the capital, St George’s. I believe Grenada is such a special place; a real jewel in the Caribbean,” said Kitchen. “With convenient flight connections from many international hubs we need to spread the word to discerning travellers about what an amazing destination Grenada is, and of course how special the guest experience is at Mount Cinnamon.”
Kitchen grew up in Australia and since has spent many years travelling and working abroad. He joined in Grenada, by his wife Danielle, and their 7-year-old daughter Sienna.
He said, “We have many plans to enhance the property, initially with our menus and dining experience to firmly place the resort as the place to dine on the Island. We are so fortunate to have access to de Savary’s Mount Edgecombe Plantation and his farm at Tufton Hall, both in the north of the island, providing us a wonderful array of fresh, organic, locally grown produce: a real garden of Eden for our kitchen brigade. I would also like to expand and update our spa menu, as this is such an important part of many guests’ experience here at the resort.”
