Hundreds of children this Christmas received an extra surprise courtesy the Sandals Foundation. The team at Sandals LaSource visited 5 schools across the country – Blessed Sacrament RC, Grand Anse, Woburn Methodist, Marquis Pre Primary, Ford Pre-Primary and Holy Innocent Anglican. Contributions were also made to Father Mallaghan’s Home for Boys, Our Shelter, Cedars Home and Blue Stars Sports and Cultural Club.
Children as young as newborns to 17 years old received gifts from employees at Sandals Lasource as part of the Sandals Foundation annual toy drive. The recipients were delighted by their various treats and adults as well as children expressed their pleasure for the special effort made on their behalf.
The figure has increased significantly from last year’s 500 as the Foundation has spent the last year reaching out to the community at various levels and in various ways so that the any assistance given is sure to be warranted and appropriate to the recipient. The numerous team members who participated in the exercise are to be commended, said General Manager, Mr Peter Fraser. According to Fraser, “our team members selected the institutions on the receiving list and volunteered their time to wrap and deliver in excess of 800 gifts. This kind of selflessness is what the season and the Sandals Foundation is about and we’re very proud that this spirit is so strong here at Sandals LaSource.”
