CIBC FirstCaribbean International Bank has once again extended support for GRENCODA’s Student Assistance Programme (SAP).
The programme, which has been in existence since 1986, provides assistance to disadvantaged children entering secondary school, by assisting with costs for school books and uniforms.
Nigel Ollivierre, Country Manager at CIBC FirstCaribbean made the presentation and expressed the bank’s commitment to education by giving deserving students the opportunity of a quality education.
“CIBC FirstCaribbean is proud to be associated with GRENCODA’s Student Assistance Programme which supports the education of our youth. This programme plays a significant role in ensuring that each child is given an opportunity to learn, beginning with the provision of the right tools.” he said.
Benny Langaigne, Programme Manager at GRENCODA accepted the donation on behalf of the institution and thanked CIBC FirstCaribbean for its continued support. “CIBC FirstCaribbean has supported this programme for many years and for this we thank you. The funds received today will go a long way towards improving the educational experience of a number of students.” He commented.
Over the years, the Bank has contributed in excess of $10,000 Eastern Caribbean Dollars since it first began donating to the programme in 2003.
