25 of the nation’s young cricketers will participate in a Personal Development Session at the Grenada National Stadium on Saturday, February 28 at 9:30 am.
The seminar entitled “Personal Development in West Indies Youth Cricket: The First Step” will be facilitated by Barbadian Dawn-Marie Layne of DML Sport Psychology.
The session will highlight the importance of holistic development among the region’s very talented youth cricketers with a special emphasis on education and career development.
Ms Layne possesses a Master’s Degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Northhumbria University and has represented both the Barbados Women’s Cricket Team and Durham County Cricket Club in the UK.
“When we looked at what Ms Layne had to offer, we felt that it is in line with our own development programmes and it would benefit our youngsters tremendously,” said Dwain Gill, President of the Grenada Cricket Association (GCA).
Participants for the session include 15 of the most promising players that took part in the recently concluded GCA Under-15 Tournament as well as 10 from the Under-19 group.
