The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA – TCP) expresses its most vigorous rejection to the “Executive Order” issued by the President of the United States of America, Barack Obama, on March 9 2015, wherein the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela is described as an “unusual and extraordinary threat” to the national security and the foreign policy of the United States, which constitutes an unprecedented assault to the stability of our country, and thus, of our entire region.
This aggression not only violates all the international standards that govern the life of equal and sovereign states, but also ignores the anti-imperialist tradition that our peoples have claimed through history, and threatens the peace and tranquility of our countries.
The Member States of ALBA emphatically reject any assault and attempt of infringing the sovereignty with the aim of disturbing the peace and democratic order of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, and we urge the government of the United States of America to respect the principles of self-determination of peoples and non-interference in the internal affairs of foreign countries, in accordance with the international law and in the spirit of freedom and independence.
