During the last 24 hours, Hurricane Danny has strengthened to Category 3, but POSES NO THREAT TO GRENADA, CARRIACOU AND PETITE MARTINIQUE.
As of 2:00 pm, Friday, 21 August 2015, Hurricane Danny was located at 14.3 NÂ and 48.6 W, with winds of 115 mph.
The National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) continues to monitor the movement of Hurricane Danny as it makes its way across the Atlantic. The Meteorological Services, Maurice Bishop International Airport, continues to provide professional updates to NaDMA.
The Caribbean Disaster Emergency Management Agency Coordinating Unit (CDEMA CU) has placed the Regional Response Mechanism RRM on alert and stands ready to assist any of the CDEMA participating states that may be affected.
The general public is reminded to continue to be vigilant, and families are encouraged to review and update their FAMILY DISASTER PLANS. The public is also encouraged to know the locations of the nearest EMERGENCY SHELTERS, and ensure that you have a DISASTER SUPPLIES KIT.
