A team of FIFA and CONCACAF officials are expected in Grenada from today, Tuesday, for a number of activities.
The officials scheduled to be in Grenada are FIFA Development Officer Howard McIntosh, CONCACAF Project Manager for the Under 17 Women’s Football Championship Ricardo Sarille, CONCACAF’s Director of Broadcast Operations Oscar Sanchez, Project Manager Kevin Messam and Manager of Disciplinary & International Matches Alejandra Yepes.
While in the Spice Isle, they will have a packed agenda including: the CONCACAF Under 17 Women’s Championship Grenada 2016 Logo Launch carded for Thursday, 29 October, site visits and meetings with various individuals and organizations.
McIntosh arrives Tuesday afternoon to discuss strategic planning with top GFA officials, then on Wednesday morning, he travels to Fond Playing Field in St Patrick to view progress on the FIFA funded lighting project.
On Wednesday, all officials will visit training fields around the island. These include the National Cricket Stadium, Beausejour, Tanteen, La Sagesse and Morne Rouge.
Then on Thursday, the delegation will visit Grenada’s National Athletic Stadium which is set to be handed over by the People’s Republic of China in the coming weeks. The Stadium is the host venue for the CONCACAF Under 17 Women’s Football Championship. The visit is carded for 2 pm.
Also on Thursday, CONCACAF officials will meet the National Organizing Committee for the U17 Championships at 5 pm at the Radisson Hotel. This meeting will examine progress made thus far for Grenada’s hosting of the tournament.
