- Grenadian killed in West Palm Beach car crash
- Former student of St Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School
The West Palm Beach Police Department is asking anyone with information surrounding Thursday’s car crash that claimed the lives of 2 young men, both 22, one of whom is Grenadian.
The driver was identified as Oshane Edwards and the passenger Kamron ‘Skinny’ Greenidge.
According to investigators, the Nissan was travelling North on Jog Road at a high rate of speed, when the driver lost control of the vehicle and entered into a critical spin, sliding sideways for approximately 400 feet before crashing into a cement wall. Edwards and Greenidge were killed in a collision on North Jog Road in West Palm Beach, Florida. Both were reported dead on impact.
Greenidge was born in Grenada and resided in Telescope, St Andrew, and attended St Andrew’s Anglican Secondary School (SAASS). He migrated to the United States where he has been for the past 4 years.
Former teacher Allisha Alexander said, “Kamron was a fun student who had an infectious personality. He made teachers and classmates laugh.”
The ongoing investigation into the crash has revealed that about 1:30 am, a 2003 Nissan 350z driven by Edwards was travelling north on Jog Road, north of Okeechobee Boulevard and west of Florida’s Turnpike, at high speed when Edwards lost control, entered into a spin and crashed into a cement wall
The West Palm Beach Police Department is soliciting assistance from the public to provide any information that can be useful in their investigation.
NOW Grenada spoke with Karen Greenidge, who mourns the loss of her son. “My son Kamron is such a loving son and we always have these frequent communications with him. It is a very stressful time for the family and everybody is quite down. Kamron has a younger brother; I only got two of them and now I lost one of them.”
Greenidge indicated that the family is still searching for answers surrounding the accident. “Not much information as yet, because we are still waiting for some information from the police.”
Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact the West Palm Beach Police Department at 561-822-1900.
