An 18-year-old from Concord, St John is Grenada’s latest road fatality. His name is Torri John and his death brings to 6, the number of road fatalities for 2018.
Police said that during the mid-morning period on Sunday 21, there was an accident at the Green Bridge public road in St George’s involving a grey Suzuki Escudo. The vehicle is a rental which was driven by Mickel John 25 years also of Concord, St John.
5 persons were in the vehicle including 1 female. All occupants of the vehicle were taken to the hospital by ambulance and private vehicles. John was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The vehicle involved was taken to the Special Services Unit (SSU) camp for further investigation. It is not known what caused the accident.
Grenada is seeing a record number of road accidents for the year – 1,726 as of 22 October 2018. According to police, there have been 64 serious road accidents.
