The Northern District of the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF), yesterday handed over a fruit basket each to the Top-Hill Senior Citizen Home, V&A Daycare and the Christine David Child Development Centre.
The gesture was focused on recognising October as elderly and child month.
Officer in Charge of the Northern District of the RGPF, ASP Richard Langdon said the initiative is in appreciation of the contribution made by senior citizens in serving their country and letting children understand the relationship of the police and community from a very tender age.
He noted that in the Christmas Season, officers of the Northern District would be aggressively reaching out to elderly citizens in Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Carriacou and Petite Martinique Affairs, Rholda Quamina, extended gratitude to the officers for touching lives across the island for the past few months.
She added that in the capable hands of workers of the Top-Hill Senior Citizen Home and the Christine David Child Development Centre, rest assured proper use would be given to the donation.
