‘The one-off payment for public officers will cost Government EC$7 million. The workers who are represented by TAWU and PWU will receive the one-off payment and increment for the period at the end of April. The membership of other unions who signed onto the agreement with Government before TAWU and PWU, have already received the one-off payment and increment.’ read more
On Friday 17 March 2017, a meeting was held with the parties involved and Government agreed to pay $1000.00 by 31 March 2017 on the understanding that more will be paid after discussions with the parties in July 2017, providing that the fiscal space allows. read more
The government will convene another meeting with the Public Workers’ Union in the coming weeks to discuss another phase of regularisation pertaining to Officers holding Temporary Public Service Commission appointments.
The situation, is a great health hazard to the workers and the Union is of the firm belief that “it is time now for the authorities to give them justice and to remedy the sewer problem and fix it as soon as possible.” read more
