What started off as a fishing expedition for two brothers on Independence Day turned into tragedy as a result of sudden change in the tide.
18 year old, Glenroy Gilbert lost his life at sea, while his brother Glenson is currently hospitalized following a mishap at the Petite Bacaye beach in St David on Thursday 7th February 2013.
“Glenroy, his brother Glenson, and two other friends were on a fishing expedition when they encountered a sudden change in the tide,” said a statement from the Police which also said that two of the young men including the 14 year old who rescued Glenson, swam out to render assistance.
The incident happened just about 12 noon, but Glenroy’s body was found sometime about 3:00 pm. A postmortem will be done today (Friday) to determine the actual cause of death.
