The Grenada Bureau of Standards will be collaborating with the St. George’s University to stage a workshop on Commercial Poultry Rearing and Processing.
Targeting local poultry farmers and processors, the workshop will take place at the Caribbean House Great Hall, St. George’s University on Wednesday 27 March 2013, commencing at 9:00 am. It is sponsored by the Canadian Fund for Support to Local Initiatives (CFLI).
Facilitators for the workshop are from the School of Veterinary Medicine of SGU. Topics include Raising Broilers, Raising Layers, Disease Prevention and Bio security, On-farm Poultry Processing and Humane Handling and Food Safety, Management of Layers and Record Keeping & Economics of Poultry Farming.
It is the third in a series of workshops organized by the Bureau for poultry and egg producers. The final set of workshops for this target group will be held on Thursday 28 March 2013, and Wednesday 03 April 2013 at the OASIS Poultry Farm in St. Patrick.
