The St. George’s Health Centre will resume its normal operations on Friday and the Ministry of Health and Social Security is encouraging persons to utilise the facility.

The decision to resume operations at the facility was taken on Thursday, following urgent repairs undertaken by maintenance personnel and the conclusion of a safety inspection by engineers and technicians from the Ministry of Communication and Works.

“So what it means is that the St. George’s Health Centre will be fully operational from as early as 8:00am on Friday, 24 May 2013,” said Dr. George Mitchell, the Chief Medical Officer in the Ministry of Health and Social Security.

The St. George’s Health was closed on Wednesday afternoon as a result of an electrical fire to the side of the building.

The Ministry will like to thank the public for its understanding as we strive to provide improved health care services.
