With the August festive season approaching, the Environmental Health Department in the Ministry of Health and Social Security is preparing to conduct a series of Food Safety Training seminars for existing and potential food vendors and handlers.
A senior official from the Department on Tuesday explained that the training seminar is one of the prerequisites for obtaining the food badge which persons are expected to carry and display when preparing or offering food for sale to the public.
He said it is important that persons attend the seminars which begin on Thursday July 4 in St. George’s. He added that the seminars for St. George’s will be conducted on July 9, 11, 16 and 18 at the Ministry of Health Resource Centre at the Botanical Gardens.
A similar training workshop will be conducted on July 10 and 11, at the Grand Bras Health Centre in St. Andrew.
Meanwhile interested persons are being asked to contact the Environmental Health Offices in St. George’s and St. Andrew’s, by calling the telephone numbers 440-3485 or 442-7003.
