Grenada’s new Ambassador to the United States of America, His Excellency Ethelstan Angus Friday, is among a list of new Foreign Ambassadors who are scheduled to present their credentials at the White House on Tuesday 17 September 2013.
“In the afternoon, the President will participate in an Ambassador Credentialing Ceremony in the Oval Office. At this event, the President will receive the credentials from foreign Ambassadors recently posted in Washington. The presentation of credentials is a traditional ceremony that marks the formal beginning of an Ambassador’s service in Washington,” said a release from the White House on Monday.
Amb Friday was appointed the new Ambassador after the Dr Keith Mitchell led New National Party which won the 19 February 2013 General Elections. Dr Friday had previously served as a diplomat for the NNP as a Permanent Resident to the United Nations Mission but lost the job when the National Democratic Congress won the July 2008 General Elections. Gillian Bristol served as Grenada’s Ambassador to the USA from 2009 to 2013.
