The National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) Carriacou Office expresses its profound thanks to the people of Carriacou and Petite Martinique for their contribution towards the relief effort for the people of St. Vincent.
The neighbouring island was badly affected by a low level trough system on 24 December 2013 which resulted in the loss of nine (9) lives and major infrastructural damage.
Therefore, a call was made for persons in the twin isle parish to contribute and according to NaDMA’s Community Officer Shaun Patrice the response was overwhelming.
Two barrels of food items have been packed and await shipment to the island.
