The people of Carriacou and Petite Martinique are being given an opportunity to voice their opinions and concerns on the Constitutional Reform process.
Members of the Constitution Reform Advisory Committee, led by constitutional lawyer Dr Francis Alexis, are expected to be on the sister islands for three days to host a series of consultations beginning on Thursday 8 May at the Hillsborough Government School at 7 pm. Residents from the eastern, northern and central zones are expected to attend.
On Friday 9 May, 9th, residents in the southern zone communities of Bellevue South, Belmont, Harvey Vale, L’Esterre and Lauriston and surrounding areas, are expected to attend the consultation at the Harvey Vale Government School. The consultations on Petite Martinique will be on Saturday 10 May at the Petite Martinique Resource Centre.
The youth of the twin isle parish is being included in the process, and special meetings are scheduled with the students of Bishop’s College and Hillsborough Secondary School, as well as youth involved in the New IMANI Programme.
