On 14 May, the Market Access and Rural Enterprise Development Programme (MAREP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, to provide extension and technical advisory services to support the rural poor in MAREP’s targeted communities.Â
MAREP focuses on poverty reduction in collaboration with stakeholders in 50 rural communities across Grenada and Carriacou.
This MOU signifies a joint undertaking which will strengthen competencies and support training for eight extentionists to provide specific services to MAREP beneficiaries. The signing ceremony was held at the Ministry of Agriculture. Present were Merina Jessamy, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Agriculture, Dr Malachy Dottin, Ministry of Agriculture, Byron Campbell, Programme Manager at MAREP, and other government officials.
