The Grenada booth at the trade show of the 2014 Home Based Travel Agent Forum, engaged approximately 300 travel agents with round table presentations on Tuesday 17 June. They were told about Grenada’s new destination brand and its niche markets of dive, sailing, adventure, wedding and honeymoon.

They were also well informed about the various airlift options to Grenada and were directed to Travel Span chartered flights from New York to Grenada for Spicemas 2014. The Las Vegas forum began on Monday 16 June with round table presentations and a 2 day trade show.

Round Table Presentations are unique to this forum, allowing exhibitors to speak about their product with 10 travel agents at one sitting. Christine Noel-Horsford, Manager of Projects & Reporting at the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) reported that this experience was invaluable to the marketing and general awareness of Grenada’s tourism products.

The travel agents were given destination brochures, maps and a spice pouch signifying the country’s well known identity. They were eager to learn about the GTA familiarisation trips – where travel agents and media personnel are given a trip to Grenada to experience the destination and its services, followed by their directing clients to Grenada for holiday travel.
