Held under the patronage of the Consulate General of Grenada in Toronto, this year’s Grenada Day Festival will be celebrated under the theme “40 years One People” to commemorate the fortieth anniversary of Grenada’s Independence.
The full day event on Saturday 23 August will consist of live performances by Grenadian and international entertainers, music, arts and craft, food, and family activities. The opening ceremony will feature remarks by Minister Otway-Noel, on behalf of Prime Minister Dr Keith Mitchell.
The festival was established in 2006 by the Grenada Day Cultural Association, and has been termed the ‘largest diaspora celebration’, with over 8,000 people attending each year to celebrate Grenada’s people and its culture.
