The 2014-2015 winter cruise season opens with a bang with the inaugural visit of the 2400 passenger Disney Magic on Wednesday 24 September.

182 cruise lines are expected to berth in St George’s by 24 April 2015, with a carrying capacity of 270,000 persons. This season will also see Carnival Cruises returning to Grenada since its last call in 1999.

“The Grenada Tourism Authority continues to support the private sector with its consistent negotiations for increased cruise business year-round, and welcomes three inaugural cruise calls for the upcoming season: Disney Magic, Carnival Splendor and Carnival Triumph,” said Nikoyan Roberts, Nautical Development Manager, Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA).

The GTA is pleased to see the results of the hard work of all stakeholders with the number of cruise calls to Grenada steadily increasing. The first half of 2014 saw a 12% increase in the number of cruise passengers visiting the island as compared to the same period in 2013. This cruise season will see an additional 24 cruise calls compared to last season’s 152 calls. The GTA recorded more than 230,000 passengers.

The 2014/2015 list of cruise calls is now available at the GTA at an administrative cost of $10.
