Weeks after it was launched in the neighbouring islands of Dominica and St Lucia, the Caribbean Performing Arts Federation (C-PAF) Inc will officially launch in Grenada.
A media launch will take place at 10:00am at the Grenada Trade Centre, Morne Rouge on Wednesday 17 September, 2014.
The directors on the Executive of C-PAF who will be present for the media launch are the Chief Executive Director Irvin C Durand of Dominica; Marketing Director Samuel Browne of St Vincent; Media & Communications Director Jackie Cherebin-Weekes of St Lucia and Operations & Programmes Director Sandra A James of Grenada.
This private sector not for profit organisation with its head office in Dominica has representation throughout the OECS, the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States.
The mission of this entity is the fostering and promoting of the performing arts in the OECS sub-region. Its purpose is to facilitate the development of an enabling environment for the implementation of a more integrated OECS Creative Arts Sector.
“This is a member driven organisation which will target industry practitioners and support services in the Performing Arts Sector which would include music, dance, theatre, comedy, film and fashion,” said a press release from the federation.
The launch will officially unveil the website of C-PAF, which will feature a members’ directory. This website will benefit the members as it would offer an online presence that will present a calendar of activities; detailed information on C-PAF including its conceptualisation, structure, missions, goals and objectives, and a comprehensive database of OECS performing artistes and support services.
The federation seeks to bridge the gulf or divide which exists between Creative Industry practitioners and member governments by partnering with as many government ministries, departments or quasi-government entities, organisations, groups and individuals as possible to work towards the development of the Performing Arts, and to bring the talents and skills of our performers to a high standard in order to export them globally.
The federation will be launched in St Vincent and the Grenadines on Friday 19 September.
