Having successfully concluded the 2014 GRENLEC Debates, Grenada Electricity Services Ltd. (GRENLEC) is continuing its support for youth and education.
On Monday, 1 December, Benedict Brathwaite, GRENLEC’s Financial Controller joined Jean Robinson, co–founder and President of the J. J. Robinson Trust for the handover of $10,000 to assist the J. J. Robinson Trust with tuition for TAMCC students.
As with many other deserving programmes, GRENLEC’s commitment to the J. J. Robinson Trust is an annual one that enhances the opportunities for students to access education. Students earn and maintain their scholarships through hard work and discipline.
In making the presentation, Mr Brathwaite thanked the J. J. Robinson Trust for its work with youth and emphasized GRENLEC’s philosophy of giving back to community.
Mrs Robinson noted, the Trust works closely with recipients, TAMCC and families to promote students’ well-rounded achievement and lifelong success.
Education remains a priority for GRENLEC and under its Community Partnership Initiative, the Company has provided more than $600,000 in support to schools this year.
Featuring strongly among the school projects the GCPI has undertaken in 2013/2014 are: GRENCODA’s Student Assistance Programme, a new auditorium at St John’s Christian Secondary School, a renewable energy and energy efficiency programme at SAASS, resource centres at St Mark’s Secondary and St Andrew RC and a classroom extension at Bishop’s College.
In 20 years, the GRENLEC Community Partnership Programme has invested more than 15 million dollars in communities and touched countless lives throughout Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
