5:15 to 7:00 pm
at the Grenada National Museum
As we celebrate our first Heritage Month, the below sponsors take this opportunity to share some of Grenada’s rich heritage with the entire island through this travelling exhibition of old photographs, some dating to the dawn of photography in Grenada in the 1880s and 1890s. If “A picture paints a thousand words,” then we hope these views tell interesting stories of what the islands looked like many, many decades ago.
Though we would have loved to have a greater geographical selection, we were limited to images that were readily available as our collection has not survived the ravages of time. Nonetheless, we hope these images help to illustrate our past, awaken in you a desire to learn more about our heritage, and to share it with the younger generation. Grenada’s unique heritage, some captured in these photographs, is a birthright and an essential part of who we are as we seek to create our National Identity. We need to cherish it!
