Minister of Youth, Sport and Religious Affairs, the Hon. Emmalin Pierre, congratulates Kirani James on his convincing victory at today’s Diamond League Race in Shanghai, China.

Minister Pierre stated that Kirani continues to proudly represent the people of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique, his family and in particular the people of St John with discipline, patriotism and class and this latest edition of his successes comes as no surprise.

James won in a time of 44.66s with close to 7 meters between himself and the second placed athlete.

MP for the constituency of St John, the Hon. Alvin Dabreo, heaped praises on the St John native for his continued successes. He stated that Kirani remains an inspiration to all the people of St. John, Grenada and the Caribbean old and young alike.

Both members of government stated that Kirani can be assured of the continued support of the Government and people of Grenada in his future endeavors.

Grenada’s Kirani James will next race on Saturday 30 May at the Prefontaine Classics in Eugene, Oregon, USA.
