The National Disaster Management Agency (NaDMA) and the Grenada Government are providing support to Dominica, which was badly affected by Tropical Storm Erika.

An emergency meeting of the National Emergency Advisory Council (NEAC) was held on Friday afternoon, and a decision was made to immediately assist. Relief supplies will be sent to Dominica on Wednesday, 2 September.

The NEAC is soliciting the support of business enterprises and nationals to generously contribute to this venture. Water, canned items, toiletries and medical supplies are being sought. Deadline for drop off is noon on Wednesday, 2 September 2015.

Items can be dropped off at:

  • NaDMA headquarters on Monday (during office hours) until Wednesday at midday
  • Wesley Hall building on Lucas Street, St George’s, from 9 am to 6 pm
  • All MNIB outlets from 8 am to 4 pm

Supermarkets are also playing their part by having collection points for supplies:

  • All outlets of Andall and Associates, Foodland, Kalico supermarkets (Gouyave, Sauteurs, and Grenville)
  • Real Value Supermarket

Persons can also make monetary donations to the “Dominica Relief” account at the Grenada Cooperative Bank account number #121004900.

Collection of supplies closes at midday Wednesday, for a forecast departure time at 9 pm.
