The Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) is encouraging Grenadians to reward themselves with a Staycation! From 23 October to 14 December, Grenadians can access special discounts on accommodation, meals, vehicle rentals, island tours, and dives when they register to spend 2 or more nights at hotels, guesthouses and apartments that are part of this year’s Staycation Promotion.
Staycation is a yearly promotion by the GTA, in collaboration with its stakeholders, which promotes tourism awareness by incentivising Grenadian people to experience the islands’ tourism product.
“What is important to us at the Grenada Tourism Authority is the cultivation of a tourism culture here at home; and what better way to understand the value of our product than to experience it,” said Ms Nisha McIntyre, Marketing Executive at the GTA.
Traditionally, the Staycation promotion was offered to encourage citizens to vacation in the Sister Isles. This year, the promotion has expanded to include tourism enterprises on the mainland. 17 accommodation enterprises and over 20 restaurants, tour operators, dive shops, and car rentals are offering attractive deals for the 7-week long promotion.
“Our partners have been really forthcoming in working with us to offer Grenadians the opportunity to truly experience our island. It is our hope that locals really take advantage of the deals while they last; as much as 35% discounts are being offered by some of the businesses participating in this year’s promotion,” added Ms McIntyre.
