Four leading Chinese Public Health experts will facilitate a 5–day training seminar for Grenadian Public Health and Vector Control officers, beginning Wednesday, 7 September 2016.
The facilitators are Dr Jun Cao and Dr Zhu Guoding from the Jiangsu Institute of Parasitic Disease, and Dr. Liu Qingyong and Dr. Liu Xiaobo from the National Institute for Communicable Disease Control and Prevention — People’s Republic of China.
Integrated Vector Control Management states that “the seminar will bring into focus new and traditional scientific practices related to management of vectors including mosquitoes.”
Head of the Environmental Health Department Andre Worme believes the training will be beneficial to his staff and ultimately the people of Grenada.
The workshop, which is the first of its kind to take place in Grenada with the assistance of the Chinese experts, will also look at vector control management practices undertaken in Grenada and how it can improve.
Both Health Minister Hon. Nickolas Steele and Her Excellency Ms. Ou Boqian – Ambassador Extraordinary & Plenipotentiary – Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Grenada, will address the participants at the opening ceremony on Wednesday morning.
