It was with great sadness that the nation learned of the death of former Grenadian Prime Minister, Sir Nicholas Brathwaite.
On behalf of the Government and people of Grenada and as Prime Minister, I express profound condolences to the family of this most distinguished gentleman.
Sir Nicholas Brathwaite served this country with poise and distinction, especially as interim leader (1983–1984) in the aftermath of arguably one of the most tumultuous periods in Grenada’s history.
He also served as Prime Minister from the period 1990–1995.
Grenada has been fortunate to have been led by Sir Brathwaite, a man of quiet stature and an abiding belief in duty to country.  Â
May God grant his family the strength, to bear the pain of this great loss.Â
May his soul rest in eternal peace.
