Grenadians can holiday at home with discounts on accommodation, meals, vehicle rentals, island tours, and dives until 30 November 2016. The Staycation promotion by the Grenada Tourism Authority (GTA) and its stakeholders provides an opportunity for residents of Grenada to experience the tourism product while also promoting awareness of the islands’ tourism sector.
“More than double our population size travel to Grenada every year for a holiday; they relax on the beaches, tour the rainforests, and discover our rich heritage. We are already living in paradise, so we can enjoy the same quality holiday experience without booking a flight,” said Ms Francine Stewart, Marketing Manager at the GTA.
Eligible persons must spend 2 or more nights at any of the participating accommodations — 16 in Grenada and 8 in Carriacou, in order to receive discounts on rooms and from the 25 other participating tourism enterprises. Discounts range from 10% to 53% on services and experiences.
“When we experience the tourism product, we understand its many facets and value its contributions more. The Staycation promotion offers an incentivised holiday to our people, but also assists in the cultivation of a tourism-minded culture in Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique. We hope to see persons ending their Staycation with a greater understanding of the expectations of a guest at a hotel, a patron at a restaurant, or a visitor on tour, and how almost every aspect of our society affects tourism business” commented Mrs Kirl Hoschtialek, Product Development Manager at the GTA.
“We all deserve some rest and relaxation. Thanksgiving holiday may be an opportune time to book a Staycation in Grenada or Carriacou. The Grenada Tourism Authority encourages you to take a few days to enjoy time with your family, your significant other, your close friends or yourself,” said Ms Stewart.
