The Grenada Table Tennis Athlete Development Programme got off to a successful start on Saturday 15 September at the Public Workers Union (PWU) Building in Tanteen.
Over 20 junior players participated in the first of 12 training sessions organised by the Grenada Table Tennis Association (GTTA). Training sessions are being facilitated by Level 2 Table Tennis Coach in the Ministry of Sport, Jason Stanisclaus. Over a 12-week period, players will receive training in the basics of the game, including forehand and backhand techniques, service and service return, footwork and general rules of the game.
The GTTA Development Programme is open to all boys and girls under 15 and under 18, across Grenada interested in learning and improving their table tennis technique. The sessions are held every Saturday between 12 – 4 pm.
The training sessions began in St George’s and will move to St John and St Andrew over the course of the programme. The 2nd week of training continues in St John at the Old RC Church, on Saturday, 23 September.
