The Grenada Association of Exchange Alumni (GAEA) welcomes a new executive team led by Teacher/Entrepreneur Russel John following its general election at the residence of the US Chargé d’Affaires Stephen Frahm.

The new executive team members are Chairman Russel John, Deputy Chairperson Derisa Roberts, Public Relations Officer Chrislyn Lashington, Secretary Imogene Howard, Treasurer Terah Antoine, and Floor Members Feona Sandy, Godwin George and Paula Cato.

The executive team is tasked with revitalising the organisation as well as planning and executing the Caribbean Entrepreneurship Summit to be held in Grenada in mid-November in collaboration with the US Embassy.

“We are very motivated to reignite the flame in this association and meet our mission of executing community service projects in Grenada. The Caribbean Entrepreneurship Summit is already an exciting project for us as it will provide a strategic educational and networking opportunity for entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs in Grenada and the Caribbean,” commented Russel John, new Chairman of the Executive.

Participants will be introduced to and have an experience with non-traditional and traditional concepts of doing business in order to encourage their innovation and creativity (thinking outside the box). The project will include an aspect of social entrepreneurship and will encourage the use of creativity while forging regional linkages in building successful businesses.

The Caribbean Entrepreneurship Summit will expose participants to innovative business ideas from regions around the world, as well as to non-traditional funding sources which will facilitate the creation, development and execution of strategic and business plans. It will see the realisation of the GAEA’S goal of ensuring alumni’s positive contribution to regional economic and entrepreneurial development.

The GAEA is an association made up of exchange alumni from the many US Government sponsored programmes including Young Leaders of the Americas Initiative (YLAI); International Visitors Leadership Programme (IVLP); BOLD Leaders Programme, Youth Ambassadors and Fulbright Scholars.
