Grenlec Debates Round of 16 match schedule

16 of the nation’s secondary schools are preparing for round two of the Grenlec Debates on 11 and 12 October. 15 of the 22 schools that participated in the preliminaries earned a place in the Round of Sixteen.

Presentation Brother’s College, the defending champion, automatically advanced to the Round of Sixteen because an odd number of schools registered for the 2018 season.

The debaters will explore the theme “Grenadian and Caribbean History” in the upcoming round. Following is the Round of 16 schedule.

ROUND OF 16 SCHEDULE – 2018 GRENLEC DEBATES

Be it resolved that Grenada continues to observe Thanksgiving Day.

 

4 J W Fletcher Catholic Sec

The Anglican High School

Be it resolved that the former colonial powers pay reparations to their former slave colonies.

 

5 St Joseph’s Convent, Grenville

vs

Presentation Brothers’ College

Be it resolved that knowledge of Grenadian and Caribbean history is becoming increasingly irrelevant.

 

6 St David’s Catholic Secondary

Grenlec invites viewers to visit its Facebook page and show their support for our youth debaters by voting for their favourite debater.

The matches will be aired on GBN TV on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8 pm and on Sundays at 3 pm. MTV will air the matches on Mondays and Wednesdays at 9 pm and on Saturdays at 6 pm. Matches will also be aired on GIS and will be available on Grenlec’s YouTube Channel.
