Honourable Clarice Modeste-Curwen has been appointed Acting Prime Minister in the absence of Dr the Right Honourable Keith Mitchell.

Dr Mitchell left the state today on personal business.

Hon. Modeste Curwen will act in the capacity of Prime Minister until Dr Mitchell returns to the state on Saturday.

The appointment of Minister Modeste-Curwen is in keeping with the Grenada Constitution which makes provision for the Governor-General, acting on the advice of the Prime Minister to appoint a minister to act in this capacity, whenever he is absent from the country.
