The General Public is notified that as a result of geotechnical and engineering studies and design work to be undertaken on the section of road between Mt Moritz junction and Molinere Public road, the following traffic arrangements will be implemented.
Effective Friday, 13 December 2019, all trucks and load-bearing vehicles will not be permitted to travel through the affected area at Molinere. The Grenville Vale Public Road towards Willis has been identified as an alternative route.
The public is further advised effective Monday, 16 December 2019, from 7 am, the section of road between Mt Moritz junction and Molinere Public Road will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
The following arrangements, made to facilitate the flow of traffic around the affected area are as follows:
- Vehicles travelling from the Western Main Road toward the town of St George will make a detour through Molinere and exit along the Mt Moritz Public Road and continue into St George.
- Vehicles travelling from St George towards the Western side will travel through Mt Moritz via Jones Road and exit on Happy Hill Public Road and continue along the Western Main Road.
No Parking
As a consequence of these arrangements, no vehicles will be permitted to park along either side of Molinere Public Road and Jones Road.
Motorists are also advised to exercise caution and expect delays. Traffic signs will be erected to assist commuters travelling along the route.
These arrangements will remain in force until remedial work is done on the affected portion of the road.
