Vacancy: Chief Executive Officer

The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) of Grenada was established by the PURC Act No. 20 of 2016. The Act speaks generally to public utilities but hitherto only the electricity sector has come under the purview of the PURC. 

The Commission is seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to fill the vacant position of Chief Executive Officer.

 

Qualification Requirements

The minimum requirement is a Master’s Degree in Economics, Engineering, Public Administration, or any other master’s degree relevant to the regulation of public utilities.

 

Experience

At least 15 years’ managerial experience preferably in utility regulation or at a public utility.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage the day to day functions of the Commission
  • Attend all meetings of the Commission
  • Provide technical advice to the Commission on all regulatory matters
  • Supervise all administrative tasks related to the operations of the Commission
  • Approve all documents that are to be forwarded to Commission for action
  • Prepare annual fiscal budget for approval by Commission
  • Prepare and execute Strategy and Work Plans of the Commission
  • Supervise work of all technical staff
  • Recommend regulatory actions to be taken in respect of public utilities
  • Represent the Commission in Regional and International Forums
  • Represent the Commission in all meetings and discussion with utility stakeholders.
  • Promote widespread understanding of the Role and Functions of the PURC.
  • Perform other tasks as requested by the Commission
