St George’s University wishes to correct false reports on social media of coronavirus among the university community.
No students, employees, or visitors are suspected of contracting the coronavirus.
Three students with common upper respiratory complaints similar to a common cold were screened, deemed safe, and out of an abundance of caution, were offered individual dorm rooms for self-isolation. The students have no travel history to mainland China and have not been in contact with individuals who have visited China during the last two weeks.
No member of the university community has presented with symptoms that meet the diagnostic threshold for coronavirus.
St George’s University continues to work in close collaboration with the Ministry of Health and will observe all government directives and universal protocols to maintain the safety of the campus and wider community.

I am sure, some students have to work very hard to gain a spot in the university. But that was not my point. I believe the university can be seen as an indicator on how bad the virus affects the country in the future. They surely have accurate information about the spread, where we mostly depend on rumors.
Why? I am using my head. 4000 wealthy students from all over the world with even weathier parents, are not as easily desposed. After all, we visit the same supermarkets and go to the same bars. Meaning, who ever has to protect the students has to protect us as well. We might have to start thinking when we realise, they are shipping them out. Then we are in trouble.
That’s a smart way thinking as regards to the virus. But really, some of these students are not rich, they are working hard to get a career in medicine going. Some of them take loans and has to pay back with high interest. Based on how u define “rich” you may well be richer than some of them.
Absolutely my son is one of them….He definitely does NOT comae from$ and is struggling but He is managing. I’m praying for the best!!
Use Ur Head Please.
I believe, we as Grenadiens are very lucky to have the University in True Blue. As a small country we might not attract much international attention. With thousands of Students from abroad who all need to be well protected, we might stand a better chance to face the corona virus. As owner of a small guest house in Crochu and a daughter who works with cuise ship tourists, I feel as exposed to the virus as it can get.
