With one imported case of Covid-19 confirmed, the Government of Grenada announces a date change in its airports’ operations, regarding commercial passenger traffic.
Effective 11:59 pm tonight, Sunday, 22 March and until further notice, our airports will be closed to ALL commercial passenger traffic.
Aircrafts carrying cargo and pre-approved medical personnel will be allowed to land, as necessary.

I don’t agree with the government’s decision to shut down MBIA at all. What about Grenadians abroad who are stranded with no place to stay and not enough financial support? They can block foreign nationals from entering but they shouldn’t block citizens. The government’s duty is to all Grenadians and as much as they need to protect those on the island, they must also ensure the safety of those overseas.
It’s called tough decisions and has to be made at some point. There will never be a good and suitable time to close the MBIA, someone will always have a gripe. So just get used to it.
I agree
I booked since January and have cancelled until much later. The UK currently has much more cases than what is published as confirmed cases. All Grenadian out her needs to put a country first and stay where we are for now. The Prime Minister must not permit any further entry.
There is still another flight going to Grenada from England with 20 persons on it which are Grenadian citizens. What I don’t understand is why can’t people just cancel flights from where they are and wait till the virus dies down or further more why traveled when the virus already started an was spreading fast too. It’s a very selfish act….I had booked my flight since early February to come home and I just canceled my trip to rebook later….
My neice is still in China.. she had to and is still in isolation and they are all same age, she just have to be responsible and follow all instructions.
Let us a pray for our children that God will hold them in the palm of his hands.
God bless.
It should not have happened in the first place. The Prime Minister worked backwards in my opinion . He started shutting down the country from the inside, while still allowing the outsiders ex. cruise ships to still come in.
This move should have been done weeks ago!!!!! He knows the medical system in this country is ill-equipped handle such a breakout. He has put ALL Grenadians health at risk.
WHY?? ILEOGICAL AND SELFISH!
Government waited to get the first case to close down MBIA smh …they acted to late, hope the have the woman in quarantine and fine the person she got contacted with. Only God that can help us now

This should not of happen in the first place they and London should allowed anyone to fly to Grenada whether or not they have a Grenada passport or a English passport full stop thats my opinion
Well my daughter who is at university is booked on that flight to return home as schools have closed. What do you suggest she should do now?
She needs to abide with the Grenadian rules and u as a oatent need to stop being selfish..because Greis taking precautions to ensure that no more cases to come on this beautiful island.. it’s not u a lone in that position..there are many people.. a lit may not like the new rules by the authority..bet it’s for the safety of the Grenadian people
The rules say self isolate for 14 days which we have already prepared for the entire family to do.
It is other irresponsible persons who did not follow this advice and others who are abusing families with covid19 contacts that are the problem. My daughter is just 20 and left in a foreign country without any support.
Students have been leaving for almost 2 weeks since the university told them to go home, I am mystified as to why she is still here, the university still have staff to assist students, she should isolate as much as possible until this passes but borders have been closing for many days now and those who didn’t move quick enough will have to wait it out.
I am also a university student stranded abroad and agree with your statement. Schools are closing down and some students who rely on university housing will be left homeless if the government does not allow its citizens to enter. This was an unreasonable decision by the government as it is in violation of our rights as citizens. This government does not seem to know the limits of their power.
This should happen world wide
Stop all commercial flights worldwide
