Nawasa is faced with distribution challenges as a result of the present dry season facing Grenada and the rest of the region.
Daily, Nawasa monitors all systems and their capacity to meet demands, and notes an increasing shortfall in production. The company’s ability to provide a 24-hour supply is further hindered as a result.
It has become necessary to institute valve regulations for the Les Avocat and Mardigras Water Systems, serving communities in the parishes of St George and St David as follows:
Les Avocat: Berrotte, Minorca, Windsor Forest, Apsley, Perdmontemps, Marian, St Paul’s, Richmond Hill, Morne Jaloux, La Borie, Hope Vale, Creighton.
Mardigras: Mardigras, Antoine Hill, parts of St Paul’s, Berrotte, Corbeau Town, Bay Gardens, Africa, parts of Mt Parnassus, Morne Delice and Old Westerhall.
This schedule takes effect from Wednesday, 1 April 2020, and will remain unless otherwise advised by Nawasa.

As we approach the peak of the dry season with the continued threat of Covid-19 which requires increase used of water for personal hygiene such as hand washing, Nawasa strongly encourages persons to conserve and limit non-essential uses such as for:
- Power washing of paved surfaces such roads, sidewalks, driveways, garages etc.
- Washing of vehicles with hoses
- Irrigation of lawns and gardens
Nawasa is committed to meeting the needs of every consumer; however, individuals are also reminded of their personal responsibility to ensure they collect and store a minimum of 35 gallons of water, per person, per day for a three-day period, taking into consideration the needs of their households and pets.
The current projections for the remainder of the dry season will certainly bring additional stress for all water systems, and others may be added to the list as necessary.
Nawasa… committed to meeting customers’ needs
NAWSA have to be the most incompetent water supplier in the Northern hemisphere. They cut you off without notice for time periods unknown. They should be made to reimburse customers when they fail to provide water, if they cut supply for say more than 10 mins they should deduct a days supply charge. Sack the people running NAWASA & get sensible people in charge.
It has rained every night and a lot of days so there Is plenty of rain . You are not fooling anybody. People here know better. We are not stupid . This is an insult to our intelligence to think you expect us to fall for your lack of responsibility and greedy budget..You say your aim is to satisfy the customers needs. Simple solution ….build more storage units !
I live in Morne Jaloux. Over the years there has been an increase in houses constructed in the area. We depend on water trans shipped through tanks at Ft Frederick pumped there from Les Avocats, to our residences. The mystery is….. why have the original six or so storage tanks been left in disrepair at the Fort and we only get serviced by one single tank? More demand and less capacity. This has been going on for years. Does NAWASA have an explanation or clarification to this seemingly endless disconnect? Pun intended.
Precisely, smh. Year go, year come same foolishness. Muddy water in rainy season and little to no water in the dry. Explain to us why the increase in rate again. It’s time for Grenadians hold NAWASA accountable to their vision and mission statements collecting dust in the centuries old, cramped, outdated on so many levels, with zero parking of an office/business space. Seriously considering harvesting my own water in the not too distant future. Tired and fed-up ah NAWASA
If NAWSA upgrade their current nfrastucture then we wouldnt be having this problem! This Dry season thus far is not even bad ive seen worst! They need to build more storage and means to catch all the rain that falls in Grand etang and other mountain regions. Up in my area the system thats in use was there since the 50s. same system no change and from then to now the population has increased 20 fold. back then the population of my community was probably less than 100 now it almost 2000 im sure….do the maths.
