Acting Commissioner of Police Edvin Martin has ordered an investigation into an alleged altercation that occurred at Fort Jeudy, St George.
Progress on the status of the matter will be made public in an upcoming Press Brief scheduled for Monday, 29 June 2020.
While the police recognise the people’s right to assemble, the Royal Grenada Police Force (RGPF) is appealing to the general public to be calm as investigation continues in the matter.

Mr black grenadian I stand with you some of us afraid of the white people cause they don’t know how to do things to make a dollar okay . So black live matter too . And yes they should remember where we came from and who we are . (1983) Forward Ever Backward Never , they need a reminder . What does that Have to do with we killing each other nothing . Okay to begins with it were them the white slaves master we learn the killing from , it were them we learn the raping from , it were them we learn the beating up of women and the list go on and on . Who knows they may be one of Keith investors so they not doing any thing about it .
Cletus Sylvester is correct. Forget racism. Think human beings. We are all human beings and deserve to be treated equally. The dog was chasing the van because it was either (a) not on a leash, or (b) not being kept in the owner’s yard. The dog did not avoid the van and was accidentally killed when the vehicle apparently ran it over.
The driver of the vehicle was unaware that the dog was chasing the van, and that the van subsequently ran over the dog (which should not have been chasing the van).
The dog owner’s were negligent as they did not show due diligence and proper care for their pet.
The van driver was innocent.
The owners of the pet then committed assault and should be properly charged.
The police were negligent in their duties, as they should have arrested the individuals who committed the assaults (yes, according to the witness there was more than one person who committed assault causing bodily harm).
The man who was assaulted, and his wife who was present and suffered fear and stress from the assaults on her husband, should be sufficiently compensated.
You will remain slaves to racism so long as this incident is seen and published as black and white against each other.
You are being lead by the nose to enflame hatred amongst each other because this gives advantage to those who profit from those blinded by hatred.
Beware those that call for further violence for they are the hand of satan.
Every day on this earth white attack white, black attack black and we turn a blind eye.
Violence is the sin here. Punish the violence and those who encourage violence.
Peace and love be amongst you brothers and sisters!
Wow!!! Well said brother. As long as we keep seeing color as the problem well that in itself is a problem.
This man needs to be compensated heavily for the trauma that was inflicted on him. He will have permanent injuries from the pain, stress and injuries that occurred to the point where he cannot talk, having sleepless nights and ever living a normal life again to provide for his family.
The victim needs a public lawyer provided by the government. Slavery has ended, as a black Grenadian man this kind of behavior from these OCCUPIERS will not be tolerated inside our border and will not be slid underneath the rug by the government.
We the Grenadian citizens have REVOLUTIONARY blood in our veins that will not stand for this. We need to send a message to these OCCUPIERS, and the government so they Know we are not the tame, timid or docile blacks that they can come and put their foot on our necks and get away with it. We are the majority in this country, this is our Country, we run this country.
Laws should be implemented to revoke their Citizenship, heavy judge ordered payout To the victim and deportation etc. White people need to know there place in my country. Respect my brothers and sisters, because you are a guest and we are ready to kick you out of our house.
The the only reason the police is doing an investigation is because of the demonstration. They tried to cover it up.
I thought that Grenadians spirit had died with Maurice Bishop in 1983. Good to know it’s still alive.

Let’s be real about this situation: By removing the keys from the gentleman’s car, an act of robbery took place; then he was assaulted with the vehicle door (a weapon); and of course, the beating constitutes and leads up to causing harm. Now let’s assume it was the other way around…. Oh, we all know, don’t we?
My question is; Why an arrest was not made in the assault and injuries sustained y Mr. Smith. Also what I know, any animal that is roaming public roads is considered a stray. the same thing happened with my dog over ten years ago and there was nothing I could have done because my don wasn’t secured.
However, even before any investigation. there should be an arrest. The COP is not being fair on this matter. I have seen arrest being made on simpler matters, even treating language complaints.
COP Mr. Martin, be the man I expected of you. I look up to you Sir;
I be part African and part Angelo and understand that we all be one in God’s eyes. He create us and Jesus teach us love each other. Just thought I have…
Your God is a bellend.
