The St George’s Institute (SGI) announces the official public launch and opening to the general public of the institution on 18 August 2020. To this end, a ceremony is carded to take place at its location in Tempe, St George.
SGI is a privately owned Christian secondary school that will open its doors to students of Grenada and the region, with its first intake of students to begin in September 2020. The St George’s Institute is Grenada’s first collegial school uniquely designed to utilize collaborative teaching and learning techniques for the planning and delivery of all curricula.
SGI offers a blended learning approach which allows for both face-to-face and virtual access for all school programmes. With a diverse curriculum to spread across a pupil’s developmental needs, it includes the Performing, Hospitality and Language Arts, Social and Natural Sciences, married with strong foundational Life and Soft Skills embedded in its core Christian values.
We are set to nurture and develop well-rounded, versatile and sought-after global contributors. Staffed with a team of experienced and passionate faculty, its Founding Collaborator, Samantha Antoine-Purcell, we are assured, is poised to change the educational landscape within Grenada and beyond our region.
We are preparing students of excellence through transformational leadership practices with technology-infused educational offerings. Despite our existing global climate and its consequent challenges, SGI is well-positioned to engage and empower the next generation of game-changers.
Let’s fly with SGI!

The launch was a beautiful ceremony!!
Great news! Can’t wait to see this get underway and I will support in every way possible. Grenada is a need of such an institution at this time. There will always be naysayers. Pray for them that persecute you. Forward with good education. Kudos to you and your team Mrs Purcell!
This is exciting news and very much welcomed. I know you are an excellent administrator and this is certainly not just business for you; you have a passion for proper contemporary education. You desire to lift the bar and I believe with the right team, you will do just that. I know you have the quality to demand high quality from both your staff and students, while ensuring that everyone has fun sharing and learning.Welcome St. George’s Institute. Wishing you immeasurable success.
I am fully in support of this initiative. I personally know some of the faculty and they are highly qualified educators with good values….much lacking in all aspects of our broken societies. May this Institute be a leader in the redesigning of the education landscape in our region. All the very best to the team. Keep moving!
As a born Trinidadian, but bred and schooled in Grenada, the next generation of Grenadians and students in the Caribbean, need a strong foundation in business. There is nothing fundamentally wrong with the idea of core Christian values, but such values does not drive innovation and lead to economic power, which our people desperately need in this time. I would have like to see more concentration on business and science in a time when it is clear the children of African descent is way too below the world’s economic ladder.
Felicitations! Mrs.Samantha Antoine~Purcell, this is wonderful news and our Country and region need such an Institute. With the help of the Lord Jesus, I know you will excell in this endeavor and provide students with a well rounded education. You possess the qualities and background lifestyle for such a task and you learnt from one of the best in this field (Mrs.Ursula Antoine(MBE)). You will do well. God be with you.
Mrs Antoine-Purcell is a good Administrator, but clearly not one always capable of displaying evidence of possessing strong transformational leadership tenets as pronounced in this article. Her faux pas while she was Principal at Westmorland School in the recent past raises question about her leadership aptitude and attitude.
Excellent to hear. Very excited. Congratulations.
I heard it best this way: Every public office comes with an opposition. Lol
We need people like her who knows when to move and would not be easily deterred by opposition. People like her may ruffle a few feathers, but in the end, the goal will be attained and everyone shares the champagne. She is not perfect, but again, who is?
Come on my people!! We are the worst. Never like to see anybody strive. Just don’t send your kids there and move on with your life. You really need to take several seats and shut the hell up.
Such silly tupid question
Your point? why bring race into this man.
I couldn’t be more pleased to hear of such progress in our region! Samantha Antoine-Purcell (daughter of distinguished educator, Mrs. Ursula Antoine, MBE) is poised to carry on the legacy of strong education to our region with cutting edge strategies. Congratulations to you and team!
