The Government of Grenada has made it clear in previous communication that prior to travelling to Grenada, Carriacou, & Petite Martinique during the Covid-19 pandemic, all returning nationals, among other travellers, must book at a state-approved quarantine facility, at their own cost.
The Ministry of Health has worked with the Ministry of Tourism and the Grenada Tourism Authority to provide a list of inspected and certified accommodations. This list can be found at puregrenada.com/travel-advisory.
In very few cases, there have been people who have indicated that due to financial constraints, they are unable to meet the cost of the facilities on the list provided, which range from small guesthouses to hotels.
In this regard, the Government of Grenada secured a facility to meet the needs of individuals who did not utilise the sliding scale quarantine arrangements. The Government of Grenada makes it categorically clear that the parts of the facility shown in the video in circulation, are not currently used for quarantine purposes and the circulation of this video is therefore extremely misleading. Additionally, this development can have negative implications for vulnerable individuals in the future, who may not be able to afford the other state-approved quarantine facility options available.
The government wishes to assure the public that it will never take the decision to place individuals in compromising situations, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Facilities selected for quarantine have, and will always be examined by the relevant authorities, including the Ministry of Health, to ensure that the areas assigned are suitable and safe for those occupying them.

talk sense in to the leaders..
Absolutely .
I am a born Grenadian living in the US and I have my own dwelling in Grenada (no one lives there) I use my home as a vacation home when I come home. I can self isolate without having to pay to stay at an hotel or guest house..
You can monitor my movement with the App, so it’s time you change your protocols and let Grenadians go to their own homes. Instead of putting money in the hands of the hoteliers, I shop local and put my money in the hands of hard working Grenadian on every visit.
On a different not, “if you have no COVIR-19 cases open up and let the people at home go about their business in a normal way (Grenada is an island, you already controlling what is coming in)
My mom used to say, “common sense wasn’t made for fools”. I LOVE MY GRENADA .
I posted a comment yesterday to my dismay it’s not here anymore. I’m seeing others which were here before. VERY SUSPICIOUS.
Asking us to five an opinion and removing it.
As long as a Canadian citizen is not showing signs of Covid 19, they do their 14 day quarantine in their own homes as long as they can be isolated. No pcr test required. They do want to be able to confirm nyour location and have protocols for that. None is this gouging and making you stay at a high price hotel that charges in USD. Grenada received enough financial help to cover the costs of the original quarantine accommodation that they set up from other countries plus all the loans and such. Stop ripping people off.
I am convinced i know why all are asked to quarantine at state approved locations. It is a drive to put money in pockets of those facility owners who would lost business due to less tourists coming to Grenada. It virtually produces the same flaws where people are self quarantining at home . There still is no way to monitor them and are spread all over the place. This is actually very dangerous because then you don’t have ppl isolated and if infections are in different facilities then the risk of infection will be widespread, tracking will be out of control. Most Grenadian residents are so financially drained coming from a vacation and to face this. Truly absurd and needs to be rethought.
If we can show a negative pcr test result from USA on arrival at MBIA and we are pcr tested again at the airport, why keep passengers quarantined for two weeks at a state approved hotel?
Preach!
I fully understand the need to be safe when you have foreigners coming into the island but totally not in favour of locals returning being put into hotels at their own cost when they already have supporting documents that they are negative.
Why do they have to go and spend all this money in a hotel or guest house for the sole purpose of wasting their money
Greg, between you and me plus the average man in the street \, this make perfectly sense for Grenadian nationals who have their own property for their exclusive use to quarantine at home,. especially after having gone through the expense of having to produce evidence of a negative Covid-19 test. Then again this is Grenada, where productivity is low due to the “snails paste approach” to things and where the right hand has no idea what the left is doing!!
And, in regards to the number of Government selected establishments providing quarantine facilities, is this a case of putting a few extra dollars in the hands of its supporters?
i agree with what you say only try applying for home quarantine, no answer not even an acknowledgement
Does it not make sense for current residents of Grenada who have private dwellings to self-isolate in their own homes where they have isolated already for weeks, following the established protocols of course?
