Costing US$100 million, the Six Senses La Sagesse, Grenada resort is Range Developments’ third project in the Caribbean. Range Developments is a hospitality developer of Citizenship by Investment (CBI) funded resorts across the Caribbean.
Kamal Shehada, Managing Director and Member of the Board of Range Developments, who oversees the construction of Range Developments’ hotels, said, “We are excited to welcome the team of NH onboard and entrust them with construction of our third Citizenship by Investment project in the Caribbean. We have already built a successful business relationship with NH and the synergies in our teams’ work will only have a positive impact on the construction process.”
A news release from the hotel developers said that the development will create hundreds of jobs for Grenadians as was witnessed in the other jurisdictions that Range Developments have developed in. The luxury resort will be part of the luxury portfolio of Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas, a hotel brand that has been rated the number one hotel brand for the past 3 years by Travel & Leisure Magazine.
Grenada, over recent months has become the Citizenship by Investment destination of choice for high net worth individuals.
Prime Minister of Grenada, Dr the Right Honourable Keith Mitchell, welcomed the progress being made on the project. “We are delighted that the project has advanced to this stage. Range is a key partner in the development of Grenada’s tourism industry bringing much-needed investment and hundreds of employment opportunities for our people given the very challenging environment that we are currently facing. We look forward to the timely completion of this project and the creation of even more employment opportunities for workers in the tourism industry.”
The release said that NH is a regional leader in the construction industry with an impressive track record of completed hospitality, housing and civil engineering projects across the Caribbean. NH is one of the Caribbean’s most trusted construction and design/build company. The company was also the structural contractor of Range Developments’ project in Dominica that opened in 2019 – the Cabrits Resort & Spa Kempinski, Dominica. NH recently completed the refurbishment of the Rex Resort in Grenada.
Mohammed Asaria, a Managing Director and Member of the Board of Range Developments, welcomed the appointment of NH. “Challenging times define companies,” he said. “Many participants in the Citizenship by Investment industry have retreated and retrenched. We are fulfilling our commitments to our investors and all stakeholders. It shows why we are the most trusted developer in the sector, but also our confidence in Grenada and its Citizenship by Investment programme.” “NH committed to hiring locally rather than recruit scores of foreign workers – for us this was a key deciding point for us in the tender process.”
Emile Elias, Executive Chairman of NH International (Caribbean) Ltd congratulated the Prime Minister of Grenada and the Board of Range Developments on this major milestone. “NH is honoured to be a part of the construction of the first Six Senses Resort to be built in the Caribbean, La Sagesse Grenada,” he said. “We pledge our continuing contribution towards the development potential of Grenada’s tourism sector and look forward to partnering once again with Range Developments on this prestigious initiative that is the epitome of luxury and sustainability.”
The Six Senses La Sagesse, Grenada resort is a government-approved project under the Citizenship by Investment programme of Grenada. Six Senses La Sagesse, Grenada is scheduled to be completed in the last quarter of 2022.
Bravo and very well said, this government and their politicians are hell bent on keeping the citizens of Grenada in a constant mode of poverty coupled with a dependency on political handouts of crumbs, and as you rightly said why so many high profile 5 xs hotels and why not some investment in agriculture, Medicare, the infrastructure for one just have to look at our roads in Grenada, example that damage road in the PM own Constituency, even our education system is wanting and its no wonder Grenada youths are angry and crying out for change.
Wake up grenadians your Grenada government is selling all our assets to major foreign investors with the money / profits going out and with no real sustainable development / employment for our young people.
Why not invest in technologies, Like AI, cyber security, coding, video gaming and health care, invest in young people. Hotel hospitality in Grenada are low paying jobs, look at how many people are out of work due to COVID-19. I‘m not against foreign investment but Grenada will not benefit much because foreign investors will not bank their money in Grenada. We Need jobs that can up lift Grenadian from poverty, we need to get away from making beds at hotels.

I cant seem to understand how some people think! you peoole cry and moan for jobs etc, little things happening here and there and its a problem. you people moan about land selling bla bla but is’nt it being put to good use? you idiots fail to realize the more developed the tourism sector is the more money we generate! the more farmers produce will sell, Government will collect alot more revenue and in turn will trickle down to you and I. we must stop this foolishness about selling land and all this silly poilitical rhetoric. When a developer comes in people behave like piece of Grenada is cut away and gone somewhere else. Gosh man really sick of this foolish way of thinking! people would jump up and say oh build factories bla bla but a factory come with its own problems and environmental issues and any factory going up will be to some investor from overseas. In conclusion same land selling for something that wouldnt be profitable as a hotel or resort. Folks time to wake up.
Bro your take on farmers being a pivotal part of supply of agriculture products going to these multinationals hotel sector would have been brilliant except to say that this in one sector where this government have neglected for years with little or no investment, hence why our once thriving agriculture industry is now in a state of meltdown due to a lack of government funding for one just have to look at the state of our Marketing board a project that was meant to promote our farming industry and products is now in shambles and also under Fui investigations.
So what are in this proposal for us, Indigenous Grenadians? A pretty picture for us and kickback for the “great” politicians who sold our land from under us without our consent?
Our current and future generations will have to pay greatly and deal with the disaster left behind. Will indeed suffer greatly for this stupidity. We gave away the limited amount of land we had for promises of jobs. This is truly criminal.
Remember, the creator will unlikely come to our aid following these stupid decisions. Our coming generations will moan and groan all they want, from now to eternity; however, this will not save us from the disaster our “great” politicians created for us.
Please you people really like to live in the pass .
Then some leave the nice backward grenada to
make all they money overseas and then
return to grenada and say O I can’t live here any more
Grenada has lost its charm I tell you. Big money come and ruin a once wonderful island. Remember before Ivan? Remember how nice? Remember before tourist task force run off honest vendors on beaches? Remember those times? Well, good you do because those days all gone now. Seem to me government makes bad choices. But remember the story about a man who sell his friend for a hand full of silver?
