Tim McKinney, a visiting doctor, and his wife Amy Baxter, arrived in Grenada on 1 November 2020, and were approved for home quarantine.
They failed to adhere to the protocols for home quarantine, as per Ministry of Health Protocols and were arrested and charged.
They appeared at the St George’s Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 25 November 2020 and were fined $5,000 each, to be paid forthwith. The fines were paid and they were subsequently released.

I was staggered to read the initial story. I am English and enjoy a second home in Grenada. The rules are clear and sensible. I feel the Grenada courts should ensure that the law is upheld by punishing those who blatantly ignore the laws which are in place to save lives. I feel that the court should have banned them for life from visiting Grenada. This would send a very clear message.
I am an American white man who owns two homes in Grenada. I have not been able to return due to the restrictions and I still work so hard to miss time. There punishment was not severe enough. They are doctors and are guests in another Country. They no better period. I know everyone keeps throwing around the 260,000 who have died in America. I’m from NY and there are over 20 million people in this state alone. I’m not down playing the virus. To a country like Grenada it could be devastating. Those Doctors should not be allowed on Grenadian soil for at least one year.
